This Christmas was a different Christmas but it was also one of the best. This is they first Christmas where my parents had no children travel home for Christmas. Since all their kids are now married everyone did Christmas with their in-laws, except us. We would have loved to have Christmas with Ray's parents but my doctor would not allow me to travel, so we stayed home. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day at my parent's house, which was much quieter compared to most Christmas's at their house. The nice about it being so few people was that Zach was the only kid there so most of the focus was one him. He loved it! He was so spoiled this year. What can say, sometimes it is so much fun to spoil a kid!
For those of you who have been around Zach at any point in the last 6 months or so you know that he is obsessed with garbage trucks. He wakes up hoping every day is garbage day and his favorite thing to do is watch garbage trucks on youtube. I know, it's a little weird but he loves it. Anyways, this year for Christmas we bought him a garbage truck. We were so excited to give it to him, we couldn't wait to see him open it. It was even better than we imagined. His little eyes lit up and he got a huge smile on his face as soon as he knew it was a garbage truck. He played with that thing pretty much nonstop for days and days. He didn't want to eat or sleep, he just wanted to dump the trash into his garbage truck (yes, we made a bunch of paper trash for him to dump).
Grandma and Grandpa knew how much he loves garbage trucks so they also got him a garbage truck. It was quite a bit smaller so he ended up taking it with him everywhere. It came to the store with us, out to eat with us, and pretty much anywhere else we went. He loved it!
He got a ton of other gifts but the highlight of Christmas this year was the garbage trucks. Christmas is so much better when you have a kid to give presents to!
This is Christmas Eve, Zach is opening the garbage truck from Grandma and Grandpa
We got Zach a table and chairs set that he opened first thing Christmas morning. I thought I would be more excited about this gift than him but he was actually really excited about it. I am so glad we got this for him, I have LOVED having it, and so has he.
Here are some pictures from Christmas morning (warning: there's a lot)
And finally, here are the pictures of that awesome garbage truck
Did I mention that he wouldn't eat breakfast unless his garbage truck could come?
Oh yeah, he wouldn't be in the family picture unless the garbage truck was in the family picture too
What a great way to end a great year!
Who is the boy in one of the photos? Is it another exchange student?
ReplyDeleteGwen told me they had a boy from the Middle East, if I am not mistaken..
