Baby Girl

My sister told me that I need to post a picture of my belly so here it is.
My belly at 34 weeks:

I realize also that I haven't posted any ultrasound pictures of this little girl. I don't have any super recent ultrasound pictures of her but this is her at 30 weeks.

She doesn't seem to like getting her picture taken. She always has something in front of her face or she turns so we can't get a picture at all. This is the best we've gotten so far.

I guess it is probably time to give a pregnancy update. This pregnancy has been pretty stressful. I have had TONS of doctor appointments and lots of little worries along the way. Thankfully she seems to be a healthy little girl and everything is going as it should. I had an ultrasound yesterday and she is already measuring a little over 6 pounds. That's right, and I have 6 more weeks to go. Fun! I don't think you can see it in this ultrasound picture but she has a full head of hair. She is going to be so cute!
In 2 weeks I am getting the stitches in my cervix taken out so she can come anytime after that. Zach didn't come early so I don't imagine she will come too early either, although you never know.
It is exciting to prepare for a little girl. It was kind of strange at first. I was so used to boy stuff that it took a little while for me to transition to shopping for girl stuff. Don't worry though, I got the hang of it quickly and now I have a closet full of pink and purple. Girls are so fun!

Pinterest Fun

A couple months ago my Mom tried talking me into signing up on Pinterest. I wasn't all that interested in being part of the pinterest world. It sounded like a huge waste of time. After few weeks of my mom pushing me to sign up I finally decided to do it, mainly to get my mom off my back (love you Mom). Months later I am so grateful my mom pushed me into signing up. I love pinterest! Thanks Mom!
I am definitely not a pinterst junkie but I have found lots of good tip and tricks that I would have never found otherwise. My favorite part of pinterst is finding activities for Zach to do. There are so many easy and awesome ideas out there. We have been having a lot of fun trying out all our new pinterest activities but here are a few that I remembered to snap pictures of.

Bathtime fun- shaving cream and food coloring. Zach LOVED this!

I didn't think this one would be all that fun but Zach actually had a ton of fun with it. I just cut holes in the top of a whipped topping container and gave him pompoms to push through. Who knew something so cheap and simple would be so entertaining.

This one was actually a little challenging for Zach at first but once he got the hang of it he had a lot of fun. A strainer and pipe cleaners is all it takes.

Sometimes having a 2 year old boy can be crazy but most of the time it is tons of fun. Now it is even more fun thanks to pinterest...and my mom!

2011 Wrap Up

Like every year, 2011 had it's ups and downs although overall it was a great year. Zach grew up so much in 2011. He went from being a baby to being a little kid. We have had so much fun watching him learn and grow. He is smart and tons of fun to be around. It is hard not to be happy when I am around him. He definitely hit a rough patch right after he turned two (which he quickly got over) but for the most part he has been an excellent kid and we are so lucky to have such an awesome little guy. I just can't believe how fast time flies by. Lately I have been trying really hard to cherish every special moment with Zach. He sure is a special little guy and I am excited to see how much he grows in 2012.
Here's Zach December of 2010:

Here he is in December of 2011:

Another exciting part of 2011 is the new little addition that will be arriving in our family in a few weeks. Zach is going to be a big brother. We are having a little girl, due April 6th. This pregnancy sure has been a crazy one but we couldn't be more excited to have this little girl. I will be getting the stitches in my cervix removed on March 8th so she is free to come anytime after that.

Well 2012 is here and there is a lot to look forward to!

2011 Catch-up: Christmas

This Christmas was a different Christmas but it was also one of the best. This is they first Christmas where my parents had no children travel home for Christmas. Since all their kids are now married everyone did Christmas with their in-laws, except us. We would have loved to have Christmas with Ray's parents but my doctor would not allow me to travel, so we stayed home. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day at my parent's house, which was much quieter compared to most Christmas's at their house. The nice about it being so few people was that Zach was the only kid there so most of the focus was one him. He loved it! He was so spoiled this year. What can say, sometimes it is so much fun to spoil a kid!
For those of you who have been around Zach at any point in the last 6 months or so you know that he is obsessed with garbage trucks. He wakes up hoping every day is garbage day and his favorite thing to do is watch garbage trucks on youtube. I know, it's a little weird but he loves it. Anyways, this year for Christmas we bought him a garbage truck. We were so excited to give it to him, we couldn't wait to see him open it. It was even better than we imagined. His little eyes lit up and he got a huge smile on his face as soon as he knew it was a garbage truck. He played with that thing pretty much nonstop for days and days. He didn't want to eat or sleep, he just wanted to dump the trash into his garbage truck (yes, we made a bunch of paper trash for him to dump).
Grandma and Grandpa knew how much he loves garbage trucks so they also got him a garbage truck. It was quite a bit smaller so he ended up taking it with him everywhere. It came to the store with us, out to eat with us, and pretty much anywhere else we went. He loved it!
He got a ton of other gifts but the highlight of Christmas this year was the garbage trucks. Christmas is so much better when you have a kid to give presents to!

This is Christmas Eve, Zach is opening the garbage truck from Grandma and Grandpa

We got Zach a table and chairs set that he opened first thing Christmas morning. I thought I would be more excited about this gift than him but he was actually really excited about it. I am so glad we got this for him, I have LOVED having it, and so has he.

Here are some pictures from Christmas morning (warning: there's a lot)

And finally, here are the pictures of that awesome garbage truck

Did I mention that he wouldn't eat breakfast unless his garbage truck could come?

Oh yeah, he wouldn't be in the family picture unless the garbage truck was in the family picture too

What a great way to end a great year!

2011 Catch-up: My Boys and Football

I imagine that every year for the rest of my life I will get a chance to take a picture of Ray and Zach in their Boise State gear watching a Boise State football game. This is our 2011 BSU picture. I love it!

2011 Catch-up: Halloween

It has been so long since I have blogged so it is finally time for me to catch up on 2011 so I can start posting for 2012.
My first catch-up post is for Halloween. Halloween was so much fun this year. Zach had the time of his life and got way too much candy. We went trick-or-treating 3 times: at my dad's work, our ward party, and around the neighborhood on Halloween night. By Halloween night Zach had it down. He was running from house to house, knocking on doors, and saying trick-or-treat and thank you. He loved it, and so did we!
