M-O-O-N

You know how parents have to spell words so kids don't know what they are talking about? Well Ray and I have had our first experience with that. Zach has always loved pointing out the moon in all of his books. He thinks anything shaped like a moon is a moon. The nike swoosh on my hat is a moon, the comma in a book is a moon, the banana on the toy monkey is a moon, and many more things are moons to him. Well Ray thought it would be fun to show him the actual moon. So one night right before bed Ray took him outside to show him the moon. Zach LOVED it. He was so excited. He kept pointing to it and laughing. I don't know if I have ever seen him so excited. When Ray brought him in to put him to bed Zach was so upset. He kept begging to go see the moon. He wouldn't even drink his milk, all he wanted was the moon. Finally, after taking him back outside 4 more times, we were able to get him to go to bed. The next morning I went to get him out of bed and the first words out of his mouth were "moon...please".

We have taken him outside almost every night since to see the moon. We quickly learned though that we couldn't say the word moon around him. As soon as he hears moon he will beg and beg to go see it. It has been a few weeks since he first saw the moon and sill the first word out of his mouth every morning is "moon" and his first words eveyrday when dad gets home from work are "dada...moon". He sure loves the moon!!

Here are some pics from his first time seeing the moon:

Zach's Buddy

One of our favorite people to have over is our little buddy Mia-poopa-pia. Her real name is Mia but to us she is Mia-poopa-pia. I absolutely love this little girl and so does Zach. Here they are watching Toy Story 3, which they do together almost every week.

Zach cuddles with pretty much no one but he cuddled with Mia for a good 20 minutes. It was so stinking cute!

I love these two kiddos!

March Madness

No I didn't watch a ton of basketball during the month of March but it sure was a crazy month. Jake got married, Heidi got engaged, Tara got married, I had a miscarriage, Zach got 4 new teeth, Heidi bought a wedding dress...I am sure I am forgetting plenty of things but these are the ones that came to my mind. With all of these things going on you would think it was a great month to take lots of pictures. Of course I always have my camera with me but do I ever actually remember to take pictures? No. Therefore the only pictures I have from last month are pictures that Eliza took at Jake's wedding, which was an absolutely beautiful wedding. So here they are...thanks Eliza!!

Here we are at the wedding breaskfast

Good times!

Although March was an exciting month we are looking forward to a less hectic April!

French fries are a vegetable...right?

It's probably not a good sign when my 15 month old son looks at his french fry so intensly and says "French fry...yummmm!"

Zach's First Car

I know this isn't actually a car but Zach is completely convinced that if it has wheels it is definitely a car.

Christmas

My brother and his wife, Eliza, flew in from Wisconsin for Christmas. When we picked them up from the airport one of the first things my brother said was that I need to update my blog. So I guess I will start with Christmas pictures. I should warn you, I have a lot!
We had a great Christmas this year. Most of my family was here which is always a good time. Zach loved having his cousin Gracie here. They had a good time together and Zach learned lots from her, including the word "no". She was so sad to leave Zach that she kept asking her parents "baby coming?" It was so cute!

Here's the family!

Here's our attempt at getting a picture of Grandma with the grandkids. They were happy until we pulled out the cameras, doesn't it always happen like that?

Here is Zach with his favorite person in the world...GRANDPA!

My sister inlaw, Eliza, is a great photographer and she took some cute pics of the kiddos. Here are my favorite!

We did Gingerbread Houses. Ray and I need some practice, ours never turn out very good. Oh well, there's always next year!

Here are the girls of the family (My sister inlaw Natalie is missing in this pic)

This picture is so funny that I had to add it. This is Gracie trying to be just like Aunt Eliza.

And finally, here we are on Christmas morning.

What a great end to the year of 2010!!
